GlobalTuners:Receiver setup
From Qontrol.nl Wiki
First, the operator installs the software on the server computer:
- Has the receiver been installed before?
- Yes: continue to the next step
- No: Follow the Share your receiver steps at http://www.globaltuners.com/receiver/share.php
- Windows or Linux?
- Windows: download and run http://www.globaltuners.com/download/uradioserver/installer/phase1.exe
- Linux: follow the steps in http://www.globaltuners.com/download/uradioserver/linux_howto.php
Now, an administrator got some work to do:
- Go to the GlobalTuners website and find the receiver
- Is it's status Online, Starting or Error?
- Yes: okay.
- No: see GlobalTuners:Receiver troubleshooting
- Use the Upgrade link to load the required drivers
- Open the Configuration page and adjust the Receiver and Soundcard configuration
- You will usually need to know the serial port number, baud rate and sometimes CI-V address (the last two are often configurable on the receiver)
- Note that the CI-V Address on GlobalTuners is in decimal form, while Icom specifies the address in hexadecimal form. Use the windows calculator to convert.
- Click the Save button
- Open the Status page and click Restart server
- Wait 10 seconds
- Does it work?
- Yes: good, click the Activate receiver link to make it public and to make the operator officially a 'Site operstor'
- No: see GlobalTuners:Receiver troubleshooting
